The objective of the 860 is to capture full
film fidelity.
At 3.85 OD and up to 8K resolution, it can
capture the full gray range and up to 11.5
lp/mm resolution. The variable resolution
means that the 860 can do it all - from
fast quick wet reads at low resolution to
full diagnostic detailed images at high
resolution.
The 860 is being used today in Orthopedic
Clinics, Remote Sites, and as the image
capture stations for Computer Aided Detection
(CAD).
The ability to handle film sizes from very
small 5x5: (12.7 x 12.7 cm) to 14x40"
(35 ½ x 101 2/3 cm) at full resolution
makes the 860 a favorite of orthopedic facilities.
The extreme range on resolution brings true
images at higher magnification on PACs viewing
stations, making interpretation of fine
line fractures, and skews possible.
For Remote Sites where no physician is present,
the 860 represents that ability to communicate
the full fidelity image to physicians that
might be located hundreds of miles away.
When a courier isn't available, the 860
is the sole link and it meets the challenge.
Computer Aided Detection is becoming more
prevalent in the fight against cancer. For
the software to give consistent readings
the digitized image must be the same from
scan to scan, day to day, month to month.
The 860 is the rugged workhorse.
