The advances in radiology
through new technology has increased significantly
over the years. The introduction and improvements
of computed tomography and magnetic resonance
imaging alone has provided physicians with
invaluable means to diagnose and treat their
patients. However despite all the advances
in medical digitization and the introduction
of DICOM standards, the ability for anyone
needing to view images outside of an imaging
facility network is still regulated mostly
by the use of Film. The technology of Automated
DICOM CD Creation offers a new practical
method for distributing DICOM Images in
their dynamic high fidelity format to be
viewed with availability of computer aided
Image Diagnostic Tools (ex. Pan, Zoom, Contrast,
Window leveling, & print DICOM to paper
via any windows printer) on any standard
computer (Windows, Mac, & Unix) with
a CD-Rom drive. The unit can also be utilized
for DVD archiving of images for remote or
offsite storage.
PCCG presents it's Automated DICOM CD Creator,
capable of receiving and querying DICOM
3.0 images from any Diagnostic DICOM Devices
and transferring them to CD-Rom. The unit
is like a jukebox utilizes a robotic arm
operated CD-Rom publishing system capable
of holding in queue over 30,000 unique individual
jobs. This recording unit acquires the patient
information from the DICOM file and automatically
demographically labels the CD accordingly
in minutes. As a DICOM Image Copying Machine
it offers both the images and a DICOM Viewer
toolset (an on board viewer) allowing dynamic
viewing and diagnostic review of the images
recorded on the CD.
The Solution includes 3 primary
components.
1. Integrated DICOM browser based software
2. CD-Rom Publishing Unit with PC Controller
3. Choice of on board viewing Software
